or equivalent qualifications.
Vacancy Full Description : This engineering apprenticeship will allow you train and become competent in Welding / Fabrication / Sheet-metal / Manual Machining and progress on CNC as well as Electrical / Drawing office: technical & computer software.
The apprentice will be chosen to study in the various fields above. These can be split into 5 categories.
A) Mechanical Welding / Fabrication / Sheet-metal and some machining training.
B) Machine Shop learning milling / centre lathe turning / drilling / Auto machining using CNC and off line programming.
C) Electrical. Learning how to panel wire, wiring bespoke food processing machines. Electrical advanced plc programming for apprentices that show the approach & aptitude.
D) Drawing office. Learning all aspects of technical engineering drawing.
E) Mechanical & Electrical offered to students who show the right approach & aptitude.
The students will report daily to the department supervisor and working from his instructions or his appointed person.

Working Week : Various between Mon to Fri 7:30 to 17:00 40hpw
Salary : £132.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : On the job and release to Bedford College (various options available for the Engineering framework regarding College attendance but will be agreed with the College, Employer and Apprentice if required).
You will be following framework FR03648, the qualifications you will study to achieve your qualification Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Manufacture (Operator and Semi-skilled)
You will also have the opportunity to achieve the following additional qualifications: English Functional Skills Level 2, Maths Functional Skills Level 2, ICT Functional Skills, Employee Rights and Responsibilities and
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.
Other Information : Working week is as follows:
Mon-7.30am to 16.00pm / Tue-7.30 to 16.30pm / Wed-7.30am to 17.00pm / Thur-7.30am to 17.00pm / Fri-7.30 to 12.00am.
Wage is Minimum wage but negotiable depending experience. Plus a 6 months performance review.
There will be occasions working away from home on Site-work.
Also a minimum of 4 hours overtime per week is expected when offered over busy periods.
You will need to study for college work and exams.
Things to consider : The vacancy will be based inside a factory working on machinery and with hand tools. You will be working with Stainless steel metals.
There is tool club loan offered to apprentices to help them gain their own hand tools.
With experience there opportunities to follow the job to the installation stage of site-work in food factories.
