Vacancy Short Description : Cranfield Precision are offering an excellent opportunity for a budding engineer to start their career as an Apprentice Machine Tool Fitter. This apprenticeship will start at Level 3 and progress on to a HNC higher level apprenticeship.

 

Qualifications Required : Due to the progression routes of this apprenticeship candidates must have grades 5-9 (A*-C) in Maths, English and Science.
Vacancy Full Description : Cranfield Precision are offering an excellent opportunity for a budding engineer to start their career as an Apprentice Machine Tool Fitter. This apprenticeship will start at Level 3 and progress on to a HNC higher level apprenticeship. You will be given the opportunity to build mechanical assemblies for for their range of 'Ultra Precision' machine tools as well as developing mechanical fitting skills and techniques. You will also learn how to use workshop machines to produces and alter building components required for assemblies . You will also use a range of measuring equipment form dial indicators,. micrometres, digital probes to the latest laser interferometer technology to build, error check and error compensate machine assemblies and completed machines.

You will also get a chance to be part of the installation team (usually in the fourth year) to install our machines in the UK and worldwide.

As well as progressing to your HNC this is an opportunity to become a fully qualified machine tool fitter or a Lead Technician for specific assemblies. Long term opportunities could also include a Head Technician, Workshop Manager or Machine Designer.

Working Week : 37hrs p/w Mon - Fri 8am - 4pm
Salary : £158.95 Per Week

Personal Qualities : We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and is not afraid to ask questions. You must have mechanical hobbies, good time keeping, hard working, be a team player and have a hunger to learn and progress in your engineering career.
Skills Required : Candidates must have good hand skills and an appreciation of mechanical assemblies.

Training to be Provided : EMTA LEVEL 3 NVQ EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN MECHANICAL MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING (QCF)

EMTA LEVEL 2 AWARD IN PERSONAL LEARNING AND THINKING SKILLS
