Qualifications Required : GCSE (or equivalent) grade A* - D in English and Maths.
Vacancy Full Description : The Prince of Wales pub are now seeking an individual with a passion and talent for cookery to join them as an Apprentice Commis Chef. You will be working alongside an experienced Chef and have the opportunity to learn and benefit from their experience.

We pride ourselves on providing a high quality dining experience to our customers and we offer stylish fine dining and bar food alongside exciting drinks and cocktails. Our chefs use only fresh seasonal produce which is all prepared on site to produce excellent modern English cuisine. We offer an a la carte menu and gluten free options as well as desserts and Sunday lunch to our customers.

Duties will be varied, but will include the following:

- Preparation of dishes such as salad bowls, jacket potatoes, freshly baked ciabattas and hand cut sandwiches
- Plating up dishes
- Ordering stock
- Ensuring that the kitchen is kept clean and that high levels of hygiene are maintained as well as adhering to health and safety requirements
- Assisting the Chef with the day to day running of a kitchen
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 30 hours per week. Hours will be over 4 days each week, on shift basis.
Salary : £150.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : The successful applicant will have a passion for food and cooking and will be a punctual and motivated individual who wishes to pursue a career within hospitality.
Skills Required : A general knowledge of how a kitchen operates
Future Prospects : You will be offered the opportunity to become a permanent member of our team once you have completed the apprenticeship.
Training to be Provided : You will be working towards your NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery and Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Professional) as well as Employment Rights and Responsibilities, Functional skills in English and Maths.
Other Information : Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team if they meet the initial criteria as part of the recruitment process.
