Vacancy Full Description : Central Bedfordshire Council are offering 5 fantastic opportunities to join the Highways department starting in September. You will work towards completing a Technical & Professional Civil Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3. This is a great experience to work alongside a team of experienced professionals, learning the practical and theoretical sides of this complex department.

Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. By following the Civil Engineering for Technicians pathway you will develop the skills, knowledge and competence you will need to carry out the duties of a Civil Engineering Technician in the workplace.

During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including:
• Construction and the environment
• Mathematics in construction
• Science and materials
• Construction technology and design
• Surveying in construction and civil engineering
• Structural analysis and design
Number of Positions Available : 5
Working Week : 37hrs pw Monday - Friday 9am-5.30pm
Salary : £288.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : CG LEVEL 2 FUNCTIONAL SKILLS QUALIFICATION IN MATHEMATICS
CG LEVEL 2 FUNCTIONAL SKILLS QUALIFICATION IN ENGLISH
CSKILLS LEVEL 3 NVQ DIPLOMA IN CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTING OPERATIONS (QCF)
EDEXCEL LEVEL 3 BTEC DIPLOMA IN CONSTRUCTION AND THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT (QCF)
Other Information : Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team if they meet the initial criteria as part of the recruitment process.
Things to consider : The apprenticeship will offer the opportunity to work across the Highways Service, some of the placements will involve working out on the highway network, others will be mostly desk based.
