Qualifications Required : To be considered for this apprenticeship you must have A*-E in Maths and English GCSE or an equivalent qualification.
Vacancy Full Description : Calling all cooks and food lovers! The Green Lane Kitchen is looking for a budding chef with determination to learn and a passion for cooking to join our team to learn all aspects of cooking with all fresh foods.

As an apprentice chef you would be expected to learn all aspects of cookery within the business all meals are prepared on site using all fresh produce. We are a small catering operation working within a busy golf club, we serve café style food as well as catering for large events during some weekends and evenings.

Throughout your apprenticeship you will develop the relevant knowledge and skills to become a successful professional Chef. Some of your day to day duties will include:

- preparing food
- ordering and managing stock
- cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment

You will spend one day per week during your Apprenticeship programme attending Bedford College. Your day at college will equip you with the right theoretical skills and knowledge whilst we concentrate on your practical working skills in the kitchen and allow you to learn on the job.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 40 hrs pw 8am - 5pm (Varied shifts)
Salary : £160.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : We are looking for someone who:

• Shows a passion for food and cooking.

• Has a willingness to work and learn

• Is highly motivated

• Able to follow direct instructions

• Is able to work in a demanding and often pressurised environment
Skills Required : We are looking for someone who enjoys and appreciates food with a natural flare when cooking. The kitchen is a busy, hot and demanding place to work so a willingness to learn is essential.
Future Prospects : If the candidate shows the right skills and attitude, progression will lead into a full time position.
Training to be Provided : CG LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN HOSPITALITY AND CATERING PRINCIPLES (PROFESSIONAL CHEFS)
CG LEVEL 2 NVQ DIPLOMA IN PROFESSIONAL COOKERY (QCF)
CG LEVEL 1 FUNCTIONAL SKILLS QUALIFICATION IN ENGLISH
CG LEVEL 1 FUNCTIONAL SKILLS QUALIFICATION IN MATHEMATICS
