As an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner you will work with children to support their well being, learning and progress. This role provides you with the opportunity to learn skills useful for the child care sector such as assessment, planning and evaluations.
Your responsibilities include:
To work as part of a team in preparation of, and to participate in, a range of activities that support the development of each child’s physical, intellectual and emotional needs in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Ensure the safety and well being of the children.
Encourage children to learn self-care skills including dressing, feeding, toilet training and awareness of keeping clean.
Participate in parent evenings and open days as required.
Attend meetings to set targets.
Help ensure that the nursery meets safety and hygiene requirements and to report any issues to a senior member of staff.
Treat all children and staff and with respect
Prepare food and snacks when required.
Clean the nursery/equipment when required.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 40 hrs pw, Tuesday-Friday 8am-6pm
Salary : £160.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : As you will be working in a nursery the ideal candidate will be friendly, fun, hard working and passionate about the learning and development of children.
Skills Required : For this position you should have prior experience of working in the early years setting with an understanding of basis duties and routines. When working in child care its important to attend regular training and mentoring sessions to improve your role. Candidates must be a keen team player and have the ability to work on their own initiative.
Future Prospects : The aim will be for the applicant to become a key carer for a selection of children, managing their own assessment, planning and observations with their children.
Training to be Provided : CACHE LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA FOR THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLES WORKFORCE (EYE)
C& G L2 AWARD IN EMPLOYMENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND RIGHTS IN HEALTH, SOCIAL CARE OR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S SETTINGS
CG LEVEL 2 FUNCTIONAL SKILLS QUALIFICATION IN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
Other Information : Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team if they meet the initial criteria as part of the recruitment process.
Things to consider : You will be expected to help with the general cleaning and maintenance of the setting and don't forget changing nappies.
