Vacancy Short Description : As an apprentice you will follow a structured training programme in relation to a range of gardening/horticultural activities.

Qualifications Required : A*-D / predicted 3-9 GCSE Maths and English or a Level 1 equivalent
Vacancy Full Description : Main duties & responsibilities:
To undergo a structured training programme in relation to a range of gardening/horticultural activities including:sowing, digging, planting, pruning, pricking out, weeding, mowing, watering sterilisation of greenhouses. Learn the importance of hygiene etc

Use of various items of machinery & equipment to assist in tasks as above following appropriate supervision training & instruction.

Familiarisation with regards to Greenhouse heating, irrigation, ventilation & maintenance of machinery.

To ensure that all work carries out is in accordance with the requirement of the Health & Safety at Work Act and the Council's Risk Assessments.

To carry out such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.

Following completion of your apprenticeship you will be given an area that will be your responsibility to grow and nurture.
Number of Positions Available : 2
Working Week : 37hrs pw Mon- Thurs 8am-4pm Fri 8am - 3.30pm
Salary : £129.50 Per Week

Skills Required : Physically fit and able to undertake a range of tasks.
Ability to follow instruction and direction to learn new skills and activities.

Good oral & written communication skills.
Future Prospects : Possible Full time position with St Neots Town Council.

Training to be Provided : You will gain the following qualifications:
Work-Based Horticulture City & Guilds/NPTC Level 2 Diploma
