Vacancy Short Description : GKN Aerospace requires a Purchasing apprentice to support the Purchasing department; the successful candidate will undertake training to become an integral part of the purchasing team.

 

Qualifications Required : Applicants must have at least 5 GCSE grades A-C to include English, Maths and Science or equivalent
Vacancy Full Description : GKN Aerospace requires a Purchasing apprentice to support the Purchasing department; the successful candidate will undertake training to become an integral part of the purchasing team. The successful individual will firstly be put on a Business Administration Course with a look to ultimately take on a CIPS qualification thereafter. The person will gain knowledge of the business system to enable them to purchase parts to the required specifications and costs.

The main responsibilities are:

 Purchasing products to the correct standards
 To follow the purchasing departments procedures
 Drive down cost
 Ensure supplier OTD is maintained
 Comply with the Company’s Health and Safety legislation and policies.
 Organising, filing and archiving of paperwork
 Receipting of goods received for outstanding purchase orders
 Producing and printing of stock sheets
 Contacting suppliers regarding delivery errors
 Data entry (SAP)
 Entering Purchase orders and place with suppliers
 Chase up unconfirmed purchase orders
 Chase up overdue outstanding purchase orders - Enter stock transactions
 Undergo College / Training
 Comply with the Company’s Health and Safety legislation and policies.

Working Week : 40hrs pw Mon-Thur 7.30am-4.30pm and Fri 7.30am-12.30pm.
Salary : £259.60 Per Week

Personal Qualities : Applicants must have excellent communication skills and able to write to a high standard. You must also be highly organised and reliable.
Skills Required : Applicants must be competent in all Microsoft Office and be able to pick up new systems and processes quickly and efficiently.
Future Prospects : Following successful completion of your course there is an option to become CIPS qualified
