Here at the Stepping Out Inns we are a fine dining gastro pub, producing British / European A la carte dishes to a high quality standard.

We are looking for a highly enthusiastic, well driven Apprentice Commis Chef to join our fast growing family business, as we have just opened our second premises "The Bedford Arms" in Oakley.

If you are an Apprentice Commis chef looking to kick start your career, then this is the opportunity to do so. In this role you shall experience all sections of the kitchen from larder to patisserie, using fresh products that are delivered on a daily basis from local produce. You shall have the opportunity to come up with ideas for specials on the weekend and menu ideas
Number of Positions Available : 2
Working Week : 40 hrs pw, Thurs to Sat 9am to 3pm&5.30pm to 10pm. Sundays 9am to 6pm.
Salary : £288.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : - Very good with working in a team.

Skills Required : - Be able to speak and understand English language
- Have basic knife skills
Future Prospects : The applicant shall hopefully progress and eventually become either sous or head chef in one of our premises.
Training to be Provided : During this course you will study to achieve the following qualifications:

NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery
Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Professional)
Functional Skills in English Level 1
Functional Skills in Maths Level 1
Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
Other Information : Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team if they meet the initial criteria as part of the recruitment process.
Things to consider : Week day shifts are split shifts and service can be slightly stressful.
