Vacancy Short Description : SMC are seeking a enthusiastic mechanically minded individual required to work within a busy production workshop. The apprentice will be developed over three years in all aspects of manual turning and milling.

 

Qualifications Required : You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grades A*-D or 9-4 including English, maths and science or a technical subject such as engineering or product design. Alternatively you can progress from a relevant Level 2 Intermediate apprenticeship programme.
Vacancy Full Description : SMC are seeking a enthusiastic mechanically minded individual required to work within a busy production workshop. The apprentice will be developed over three years in all aspects of manual turning and milling. With the end goal to manufacture small batch bespoke engineered parts efficiently and safely.

Along with manufacturing techniques metrology will also be covered.

The ideal candidate will have a interest in engineering and machining of components in particular. A eye for detail and self motivation are a must.
As the candidate will be working as part of a team and liaising with other departments within the company good use of the English language both verbal and written are also important.
Some maths skills will also be essential, trigonometry, pythagoras and the calculation of speeds and feeds will also be taught.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 37.5hrs pw. Mon - Fri 8am - 4pm
Salary : £230.00 Per Week
