Vacancy Full Description : Full Time Apprentice Tree Surgeon required to work in a medium size, friendly company near Shefford. Beds.
To learn all aspects of tree work whilst working as part of a team.

All apprentice are required to join the two year apprenticeship program based at Shuttleworth College.
Daily tasks: * carry logs and branches and process these through woodchippers.
* To aid the climbers, ensuring ropes are free of snags.
* To liaise with clients and customers as part of a team.
* To learn all aspects of tree work with the view to becoming a competent climber.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 40hrs pw Mon - Fri 7:30am - 4:45pm
Salary : £300.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : Able to work within in team. Must be hard working and like being outdoors.
Skills Required : Ideally needs own transport due to location of work.
Candidates needs to have a can do, hands on approach to work.

Future Prospects : Aim to become a qualified tree surgeon.
Training to be Provided : During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, which could include:
•Identify tree species and their properties
•Monitoring and maintaining health and safety
•Carry out vegetation management in proximity to above ground utilities
•Control unwanted vegetation
•Use of machine powered winches in timber work
•Prepare sites for planting
•Prepare, drive and manoeuvre forwarder
•Process coppice materials and greenwood products
•Sharpen and maintain edged hand tools
•Extract wood and wood products using small motorised equipment
Other Information : Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team if they meet the initial criteria as part of the recruitment process.
Things to consider : This is an outdoor work in all weathers.
