Vacancy Full Description : This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a keen IT background who is looking to develop their skills assisting with the development of business applications within many major fashion company retails systems. This will be a support based role.
This will be a varied role within the team and will involve:
Telephone support duties
You will become familiar with all our systems and clients in order to respond to routine questions and follow up more complex requirements with investigation to resolve. An excellent telephone manner is essential as you will be representing the company on the telephone. You will also be required to answer support queries by email and via a web interface.
Logging support issues
You will be trained to support issues and log them in the central support database, it will be your responsibility to ensure that all support issues are tracked and closed as appropriate - raising unresolved issues to your Line Manager.
General office admin
Part of your role will involve general office administration such as mailings, filing and research relating to the activities of the business.
Customer site visits
Following a suitable period of training on our systems and having shown a track record of satisfying customer requirements, you will be visiting clients to perform software installations and user training.
Support work will include:
• Logging, responding and escalation of application support issues.
• Troubleshooting support issues to replicate the issue, identify why it is happening and propose solutions.
• Carry out periodic updates of operating systems and software on internal and client systems.
• Carry out data processing activities for development projects or on live client applications.
Many of the above activities will be supervised, by the developer in charge and in some instances only preparatory work may be carried out by yourself.
Development and Training
The job is extensively a support role. To this end there will be opportunities for on the job training. We will support you in relation to further education where ever possible and appropriate.
The successful candidate will be an extremely valuable member of the company,and one who supports the business as well as its clients. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth running of our clients systems.
Number of Positions Available : 2
Working Week : 37.5hrs pw Mon-Fri 8am - 5:30pm
Salary : £153.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : We are looking for someone who is efficient who works fast but accurately and can think on their feet. You should be creative and extremely proactive, good on the telephone and happy to work both during quiet times and under pressure as well as being bright, enthusiastic, quick thinking and capable of following complex systems.

Training to be Provided : CG LEVEL 1 FUNCTIONAL SKILLS QUALIFICATION IN ENGLISH
CG LEVEL 1 FUNCTIONAL SKILLS QUALIFICATION IN MATHEMATICS
CG LEVEL 2 FUNCTIONAL SKILLS QUALIFICATION IN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
OCR LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA IN IT USER SKILLS (ITQ) (QCF)
Other Information : Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team and complete an online Maths and English test which will be sent out prior to your initial interview if you meet the entry criteria. Please note this is part of the recruitment process and must be completed in order for your application to be progressed to the next stage.
