Due to expansion we are now looking to employ an apprentice welder within our busy fabrication workshop.
The successful applicant will be trained in all aspects of our fabrication work including welding, fabrication and minor engineering assemble.
Assists in the assembly and manufacture of various construction equipment.
Assists with the final assembly of plant and machine including basic mechanical assembly.
Assists with the creation of specialist equipment from design stage to manufacture.
Keeps plant equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Updates job knowledge by participating in Training opportunities; reading technical publications.
You will be using various hand and power tools in your job, as well welding equipment and lifting gear.
You will be required to fit parts to plant, reading from engineering drawings, performing general workshop duties required, such as drilling and cutting.
Works within the requirements of the company’s Health and Safety policy and procedures.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 40hrs pw Mon- Fri 8am - 16:30pm
Salary : £240.00 Per Week

Future Prospects : Once the applicant has completed their apprenticeship they will have the opportunity to further continue their training and become a coded welder.

Other Information : Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team and complete an online Maths and English test which will be sent out prior to your initial interview if you meet the entry criteria. Please note this is part of the recruitment process and must be completed in order for your application to be progressed to the next stage.
