Vacancy Short Description : An apprentice is required to join an established Company carrying out high quality horticultural work in the South Cambridgeshire area.
Qualifications Required : You will need a minimum of two GCSEs at grades A*-D, ideally including English and maths or a Level 1 equivalent.
Vacancy Full Description : An apprentice is required to join an established Company carrying out high quality horticultural work in the South Cambridgeshire area.
Working in a team of experienced gardeners. Covering grass maintenance, tree and shrub pruning, weed control and general garden duties.
As part of the training the trainee would be involved in soft landscaping and construction such as turfing, grass seeding, tree and shrub planting, mulching and maintenance.
Experience will be gained in all the core elements of a business that has been established for 35 years with a good reputation.

Working Week : 40HRS PW Mon - Fri 7:30am - 16:30pm
Salary : £149.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : Good time keeping. The ability to work in a team and listen to instructions from experienced team leaders.
Skills Required : Good communication skills
An interest or previous experience in horticulture or similar.
An interest in sport/sports pitch preparation.
Must be able to make own way to anywhere within the town area of Bedford.
A driving license would be advantageous.

Training to be Provided : Work-Based Horticulture City & Guilds/NPTC Level 2 Diploma

Other Information : We start work at 7.30 am prompt and the successful applicant needs to be in our yard for this time. There is no public transport to the village.
Depending on age and experience salary could be negotiable
Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team and complete an online Maths and English test which will be sent out prior to your initial interview if you meet the entry criteria.
