The apprentice will undertake roles such as -
- Aboricultural, in house, training from qualified mentors
- Machinery training and maintenance
- Supporting crews
- Customer service
- Works maintenance (clearing up, preparing jobs etc.)
- Health and safety guidance within the industry
There will be plenty of progression through the company, for the right candidate.
Number of Positions Available : 2
Working Week : 40 hrs per week Monday - Friday 7:00 - 16:00
Salary : £166.50 Per Week

Training to be Provided : •using and maintaining a chainsaw
•felling and processing trees
•climbing trees using a rope and harness, and using elevated platforms
•recognising different types of trees and shrubs
•identifying and managing pests, diseases and tree defects
•Monitoring and maintaining health and safety
•Carry out vegetation management in proximity to above ground utilities
You will be assessed by:
•Final end point assessments shall be composed of four elements:
•A holistic project – giving the apprentice the opportunity to undertake a business related project over a one-week period away from the normal workplace
•A structured interview with an assessor exploring what has been produced during the apprenticeship and the project plus testing additional knowledge not covered elsewhere. This will be based on the apprentice diary and knowledge assessments (portfolio) completed during the apprenticeship
•Multiple choice online knowledge tests
Other Information : Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team if they meet the initial criteria as part of the recruitment process.
Things to consider : There may be some flexibility in terms of hours which can be discussed at interview. In addition, you may have to travel some distance for work.
