Vacancy Full Description : Bolton Turf Supplies is a family-run business who offer high quality turf laying services. Their professionals have benefited from turf knowledge and turfing experience of three generations that came before them. The role of the apprentice will be to help us to remove tired out lawns and replace with new topsoil and fresh Turf.
Your training will include:
Assisting with turf maintenance
Irrigating and control of pests and disease on greens.
Preparation of turf as using appropriate methods as directed
In addition to fully understand Health & Safety legislation, and supporting policies
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm
Salary : £148.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, which could include:
Monitoring and maintaining health and safety
Maintaining and developing personal performance
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others
Clearing horticultural and landscaping sites
Maintain moisture levels for crops or plants
Provide nutrients to crops or plants
Other units will vary depending on which pathway you choose to follow.
The majority of assessment will take place in the work place through a mixture of practical observation and questions, learner discussion, written questions and the production of a portfolio of evidence. There is also a short multiple choice test marked externally.
Other Information : To take part in this course you should have a suitable level of physical fitness and should be prepared to work outdoors throughout the year. Some employers may require you to work more hours at busy times, as many jobs are seasonal.
Things to consider : Working hours can vary different times of the year , as well as working conditions.
Working outside majority of the time.
