Vacancy Full Description : The Dental Nurse is an essential member of the Dental Team, they assist the dentist and reassure and comfort the patient during treatments and ensure that we uphold high levels of cross infection and sterilisation.
The Dental Nurse is a key member of our team he/she supports the dentist and reassures the patient.
The Dental Nurse’s role includes:
• Maintaining high levels of Patient Care,
• Ensuring Sterilisation and Cross Infection,
• Note taking,
• Preparing and Cleaning Instruments,
• Assisting the Dentist.
Applicants must show willingness, ambition and dedication to becoming a dental nurse. Full training and uniform will be provided.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 40hrs pw Mon - Fri 8:45am - 5:45pm
Salary : £280.00 Per Week

Skills Required : Computer literate, good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, able to communicate with patients and team members, ability to work under pressure, good organizational skills and ability to multitask, good customer service skills, willingness and ability to learn new skills,
Future Prospects : Once passed the apprenticeship the applicant would go on to become a qualified dental nurse, with the option of further career opportunities in this field.
Training to be Provided : You will gain the following qualifications:
Level 3 Apprenticeship in Dental Nursing
•Functional Skills in English and maths Level 2 (if required)
During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including:
•Person centered support and planning
•Dementia, cognitive and mental health issues
•Personal and people development
•Activities for daily living
The apprenticeship will comply of Knowledge and Skills and behaviours:
•Dental and regional anatomy
•Respiratory and circulatory systems
•Transmissions of infectious diseases and their prevention
•Material equipment and resources
•Reflection and self-awareness
Other Information : Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team and complete an online Maths and English test which will be sent out prior to your initial interview if you meet the entry criteria. Please note this is part of the recruitment process and must be completed in order for your application to be progressed to the next stage.
You are required to study and complete the dental nurse level 3 apprenticeship which includes, observations in the workplace, coursework and exams.
